Words can't describe how much I enjoyed this vacation - one of the best of my life. What the team have created is really special, magical even. Its unique, friendly, warm, educational and just brilliant. The retreat is an absolute gem and I want to give it as many stars as I possibly can - it deserves it. The fabulous village of Saint Jeannet - a perfect place for a yoga retreat; the hikes to the rivers and up Baud de Saint Jeannet; the amazing vegan/veggie food Read full reviewReviewed on 16 Aug 2019 by Cate Falconer
This was an excellent experience. I went as a single person, thinking that I would experience some social elements but would largely find myself on my own for much of it. I would have been respected for wanting to be solitary too, but the people, the yoga and the day programs were just so engaging...the atmosphere so inviting and inclusive, I just allowed myself to relax into the lovely, warm rhythm of the place, and I'm so glad I did. If I were to pick one particular moment as most memorable it would have to be being in France, mingling with the locals at the neighborhood restaurant and watching France beat Belgium to make the World Cup finals. Read full reviewReviewed on 12 Jul 2018 by Karen Sands

The entire week at St. Jeannet was memorable! Loved each of Benoit's daily activities including his informative, detailed, and interesting commentaries! ... The area, the people, the beauty, the food, the relaxing pace (activities did not start before 10 AM... no jumping out of bed and rushing to catch a bus!)... As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
All the produce is sourced locally and is as far as possible from organic and bio-dynamic producers. We only serve local St Jeannet wine in order to encourage the local industry and reduce CO2 emission from transport.St Jeannet mains water is simply divine, and comes from springs under the local hills. We strongly encourage the guests to bottle it and have it throughout their stay and not use plastic bottled.
Our electricity is green, and our building is refurbished with energy efficiency in mind, by local crafts people, including our parents.
We operate a minimum waste strategy and recycle and compost as much of our waste as possible. We buy sustainable cleaning and maintenance products from responsible online collectives and use them with care for the environment, always ensuring the quantities are proportionate to the need.
We respect our environment during our excursions, taking our litter with us, respecting wildlife habitats and not damaging the vegetation. As a certificated walking guide and a professional mountaineer, Benoit approaches this duty diligently. Our excursions are mostly reachable by foot from our house, making it unnecessary to use transport while you are here.
We encourage our guests to use public transport to reach us, giving them detailed information, and we put them in touch with each other so that they share their private transport as far as possible. A lot of the guests do.
People
We all live locally. We are connected to the local community and take part in community life; for example by offering weekly free/donation-based yoga classes to local residents, by taking part in delivering Non-Violent Communication workshops to tackle local challenges, etc.Having grown up in the region, Benoit is understandably enthusiastic about the village and its surroundings. He is an excellent certified guide and passionately shares information relating to the history, culture and geography of the region.
We are keen supporter of local farmers and artisans. We buy vegetables from a farm in the village, bread daily from our village bakery, eggs from the butcher, etc. and on the one night a week when guests have dinner at their own expense, we encourage them to eat in our village's sustainably run restaurants.
Being in a small village , we are often in contact with our neighbours who are keen to come and talk to our guests about the village. A stay here is a wonderful way to explore French culture with authenticity, from within.
